We are pleased to announce the return of our online auction to benefit the Concord Multicultural Festival. The 2024 online auction will take place from Monday, March 18 through Sunday, March 31 and will offer a diverse selection of items donated by local businesses, artists, and community members. All proceeds will support the annual Concord Multicultural Festival taking place this year on Sunday, September 22, and other cultural events and activities we create throughout the year.
The Concord Multicultural Festival, now in its 17th year, is a community event in every sense of the word. It truly takes a village to make this cultural event come to life and we are so grateful that our village is made up of so many wonderful businesses, organizations, artists, makers, performers, and diverse community members. As a community-run event, we rely on sponsorships and donations to make our event a success, so we are inviting you to join us in supporting the 2024 Festival.

Middle Eastern Dance (Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey)

NEWARI DANCE
Newars represent an indigenous community of Nepal with unique culture, language and history.

Barranquilla Flavor is a multicultural dance program created by Sindy Chown to teach the community the value of cultures and keep the community educated about the different types of language and rhythm through music. They will be presenting a variety of multicultural dances throughout the day.

INDONESIAN SUMATRAN TRADITIONAL DANCE
Tari Piring, an Indonesian dance from North Sumatra that is historically performed to celebrate good harvest. Now the dance is performed to welcome guests at community events. Dancers carry plates that symbolize prosperity while dancing in traditional Minang costume.

Traditional Greek folk dances handed down through time and representing all regions of Greece, presented along with reproductions of authentic regional attire and recordings of regional music.

Traditional/First Drummers of the World. The drumming includes dancing as well. Drumming is used to bring the community together no matter the situation.

CLASSICAL INDIAN DANCE
This beautiful dance style from south of India is notable for its intricate and rhythmic footwork. This dance style is devotional in nature. The dances' poses and body movements are synonymous to the images of Gods and Goddesses of the Hindu pantheon. Here the dancers are expressing their devotion to the Lord.

Ladies Styling Salsa Team, a team designed to empower women and help discover their full potential as dancers through choreography.

Ancient dances of our ancestors that were performed to Mother Earth, to the deities and to the universe to contain the energies and the spirit.

SOUTH ASIAN CLASSICAL + FOLK MUSIC
Performing classical and folk music vocal and instrumental. Representing Nepali and Indian culture.

THREE KINDS OF IRISH DANCE:
Solo (or Step), Ceili (or Folkdancing) and Sets (or Country Dancing).

JAPANESE TAIKO DRUMMING
Wadaiko (Japanese drumming) has been an integral part of Japanese culture for thousands of years. From the great Shinto deities, farmlands, shrines, battlefields, emperors court, and villages - the taiko (which means drum in Japanese) has served many purposes.

Stuffed Grape Leaves: Delicate grape leaves filled with a blend of rice, onions, and tomatoes.

Koshari: Traditional Egyptian dish that combines pasta, chickpeas, fried onions, rice & lentils, all layered together, topping it with garlicky vinegar and tomato sauce.

Shish tawook: Chicken skewers cooked with spices.

Man'oushe (or manoushe) is a Lebanese street food that is eaten on the go, topped with aromatic za'atar, a unique blend of citrus flavor & herbs.
Tabbouleh is a Levantine salad made mostly of finely chopped parsley, with tomatoes, white onion, spring onion, lemon olive oil, bulgar, and salt.
